The biproduct of modern era is pollution. Air Pollution is one of the prominent pollution that we are facing today. We are inhaling lige threatening diseases. Many new born babies lost their life.

In vedas air means life but today its meaning has been changed to death. Now inhaling air seems to be encountering with death.

In recent times air pollution in Rishikesh has drawn concern towards it. Air pollution is harming the beauty of this age old city. Chilla Forest are severely affected. Flora and Fauna show some changes due to air pollution.

1. Monthly variations of air pollutants has maximum concentration of SO2 during April May in all years.
2. Seasonal variations shows that there is variations in gaseous pollutants and concentration of particulate matter with changes in season.
3. Temperature of Rishikesh city during pre-monsoon remains warm while during winter becomes cold.
4. There is sudden increase in rainfall in the month of June. 

Above report shows that reason behind air pollution is Rishikesh is high number of heavy vehicles. As the city is known as gateway to all shrines as well as  the valley of flowers, a large number of tourists visible here. 

There is need for immediate action in order to further restrict the air pollution levels. 

How complain foe a vehicle that is causing Air Pollution.

1. It is better to complain local traffic police and RTO by uploading the picture of smoke emitting vehicles. 
2. It is the state government which takes care of vehicular pollution.
3. You can also contact state pollution control board for grievances redressal or green tribunal.
4. You can also complain in courts for violation of your right. 

What are the prevention to take to stop air pollution 

1. You can reduce the number of trips you take in your cars. Avoid burning trash,leaves and other materials. 
2. The majority of uor power is produced by combustion of fossil fuels which are huge contributer to air pollution. Conserving is an effective way of preventing air pollution 
3. Use of public transport can also prone to be beneficial. This step will help you economically also. 
4. Plant more and more trees. These are biggest weopens against air pollution.
